United States began using postage stamps and in 1775, along with the British. The seals were primarily used for correspondence that were to travel more 300 miles and weighed more than half an ounce. The emails that weighed less than half an ounce is to use something called pre-paid stamps and about five cents of costs was quite a substantial amount those days.

When the Americans were using stamps before the period of the Revolutionary War the British government began laying taxes, even on stamps that are used. This can not be conferred by the American people and the negotiation of trade and trade relations ended too expensive for them. After the Revolutionary War ended and the Americans achieved their independence from Britain, the cost of stamps down. Until then most of the seals is a symbol of mercury, which was a Roman god of commerce and trade. However, after the war that cost the American people to send something Local 3 cents became 3000 miles after the war.

Today, most American sports stamps a bald eagle, which is the national bird of the country. Several seals have been designed and created from pre-war period and, indeed, very few stamp collectors have had the privilege of collecting of the stamps. Several stamps can be seen in museums, which invariably have a display of rare stamps of America. Many of these stamps are doubled for the pleasure of the collector stamps.
