Can we really spend our way to prosperity?

Because let's face it – the average American is prosperous, compared to an American who lived 100 years ago. Hunger was virtually unknown, and most of us to survive a lot of diseases that would have killed us 100 years ago. There is a telephone, a television and who knows how many gadgets in almost every home. Almost anyone who wants to learn team can have access (through work or through a public library). And look at our free time! And almost everyone has "paid staff" as the washing machine, cooker, central heating. We do not need the economy to grow much more (unless we colonize the moon or something). We must help other countries get to the same level of comfort as the first world enjoys. And I think the economic crisis is part of that balance. . . .
