Pocket watches make great gifts! My wedding was coming in 30 days and I was not sure what you buy for groomsmen gifts. After looking around, from beer mugs to money clips that still was not sure what to buy. My mother came with the takeover of pocket watches as gifts from sponsors wedding, but my first reaction was: "Are you kidding me Mom? Pocket watches are outdated. When I think of pocket watches to believe that a gift and my grandfather or father, but not groomsmen gifts for a wedding.
I was wrong and I'm glad I took advice from the mother. I bought eight custom engraved pocket watches as groomsmen gifts for my friends loved it! I was surprised at how everyone responded to these unusual gifts. The best recording what is that pocket watches can be personalized with the recipient's name or initials, with a special message on the wedding (which my wife-to-be so loved).
The only consideration was whether I had to buy pocket watches quartz battery or mechanical pocket watches. The quartz pocket watches are very accurate and in most cases less expensive than mechanical pocket watches. The disadvantage of quartz is that the battery in the end have to be replaced. Pocket watches are mechanical expensive and in most cases have to be wound every day. Mechanical pocket watches streams and gears and are not as accurate as quartz models. In the end I chose the style of quartz as groomsmen gifts. The price was very reasonable at $ 50 each, but could have acquired quartz models for as little as $ 20 each.
The next decision I had to do was where to buy them. The Internet has many places to buy pocket watches, but after much research and recommendation from a friend I decided to ask my groomsmen gifts from a company called Gunther Watch located in Carlsbad, California. The prices were great, but engraving options offered were far superior to anything I had seen on the Internet. I called the company and spoke with a man named Scott to explain that he was pressed for time and engraved pocket watches would arrive within 10 days. To my surprise, Scott said he was not a problem because the populations Gunther watch thousands of pocket watches to their store and transport within 10 days or less, would occur. He did! I received the pocket watches and engraving was awesome! Usually do not recommend to anyone on the Internet, but Gunther Watch excellent customer service. Essentially – all said they would do … they did, and I can not ask for anything more than that.
